The Staria Blog
December 21, 2006 - It's been a very busy season and
the other sites are finally up and running -- let's keep our fingers crossed
-- for good, now. Had another server problem and found banners,
navigation buttons, and all kinds of confusion requiring immediate service.
The problems are solved and I can now focus on the updates
and finishing my last holiday Starias for two local families. Yeah!
That means a quick delivery in plenty of time for Christmas!
Have happy Holidays, everyone! Gather with friends and
family and makes lots of happy memories -- then, let me help you share them!

November 6, 2006 - Today we're going live, for the first
time! Finally, a place where my customers can get quick access to the
information. I just know there are going to be typos and other quirky
problems, before we settle in, but that's the price we pay for high-tech
access. Welcome.

November 5, 2006 - The nightmare has really begun. My
webs have to be rebuilt and I need to clean out all kinds of debris.
Aaarrrggghhhhh! Please bear with me and this should all get sorted out
before long.

November 4, 2006 - Okay, this is going to take a
little longer than I originally thought. Had to call my server and get
walked through the process of creating multiple web sites. So, most
things won't get done for a couple of hours while I figure out the details.
Three steps forward; two steps back. Darn.

November 3, 2006 - Had to take a break and bring samples to
the Clayton Women's Club Blind Auction. They're expecting just a
little more than 400 people, which is going to at least keep the place warm!
The hardest job has been trying to figure out a way to explain what it is
that I actually do without giving away trade secrets! How does one
tell others about something no one has ever done before?
The other sites offering music with videos simply download
music onto the video, or will create a new tune. I'm using star
positions for the melody. Not your everyday happening.
By the way, simply taking music from online is not taking
care of the copyright. And, even if one owns a cd, the songs are not
owned by the purchaser. The only thing purchased is the actual cd to
listen to, not the right to use that music on anything else, without the
author's permission. Don't let anyone tell you different. It's a
onetime usage right (on that cd), only. If you make a compilation for
private use, that's one thing. If you take that compilation and put it
onto another cd to distribute copies for any purpose, that's copyright
infringement.
The internet makes it very easy to download music from
almost any source. Just because it can be done, doesn't mean it should be
done. If you were the author, you'd be just as upset to discover other
people were stealing your music. I'm getting off my soapbox.

October 30, 2006 - I'm just about ready to upload the site,
even though there's still some pages to finish up. But, at least folks
will be able to hear and see samples of the Starias and it won't be long
before everything will be available. Then, I can clean up and add, as
needed. The tricky part is figuring out how to keep all sites separate! Wish
me luck!

October 25, 2006 - A final decision on colors and banners
was almost more than I could achieve. But, here it is and it seems
celestial enough, without being New Age-y. I have nothing against New
Age, itself, but the Staria Melody is just not part of that genre, and I
want to make sure it is not confused with Astrology. There are too
many good astrologers out there for me to step on their toes. I do
include one's sign, however, in case anyone would want to follow up for a
casting.

October 18, 2006 - Okay. I've
finally listened. It's been in the works for awhile, but I'm trying to put a
dedicated site together for the Staria Melodies.
It looks as though the more people are ordering their own personal Starias,
the more they want a site they can access, directly. The spoken wish
is my command and, hopefully, all will be accomplished soon.
